Our lambs are all vaccinated and dewormed. They are kept with their mothers, and will have access to a mineral source , hay or pasture and lots of room to play. Their mothers are fed a little whole locally grown grain during the end of pregnancy and the beginning of lactation, very little, only a handful to ensure that they are receiving the mineral and vitamine supplement pellets that the mix contains.
We are hands-on with the sheep and lambs. The lambs cuddle up with our young children while they read in the sheep's paddock. This makes for trusting animals. Though sheep are, well sheepish, once they get to know you they are make for very friendly barnyard pets. The secret is to scratch them under the chin ;oD!
